A SMALL REBELLION AGAINST ORDINARY CELEBRATIONS
Emerging from a dialogue between whimsy and craftsmanship, these miniature stands are more than cupcake stands—they're stages for life's sweet moments, an invitation to pause, to celebrate, to find beauty in the everyday.
While conceived as platforms for cupcakes and sweet moments, they've found their way into homes as altars for candles, stages for incense ceremonies, and centerpieces for gathering. Each stand invites interaction, asking to be touched, moved, repurposed—becoming part of the owner's daily choreography of living.
Each pieces begins as a meditation on celebration and the poetry of everyday life. Clay becomes a medium for capturing moments of wonder: from celestial-inspired designs that echo New York's eclipse, playful carousel patterns born from my niece's imagination, to the quiet beauty of a single flower each piece tells a story.
Each stand is crafted through a combination of wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, allowing me to explore different textures and forms. I work with various surface treatments: water-etching that creates subtle patterns and depth, colored clay inlays that add unexpected pops of color, and an array of glazes from crystalline to metallic that transform in the kiln. These technical choices aren't just aesthetic decisions - they're part of each piece's story and functionality.
What started as cupcake stands has evolved as collectors discovered new ways to incorporate these pieces into their daily lives. They've become platforms for candles and incense, pedestals for serving condiments at dinner parties, and decorative elements that hold small treasures. This organic evolution has inspired me to complement the stands with matching small bowls and match holders, designed to create complete tablescapes that tell your unique story.
